Itinerary

Day 1 to 1 – Arrive Paris

Bonjour ET bienvenue á Paris! The City of Love, The City of Lights, and a city that never sleeps. Whatever you wish to call it, there is no denying Paris is a city of beauty. The capital of France, Paris attracts more than 30 million tourists each year and with a vast range of activities, museums, cafes and iconic landmarks it’s easy to see why.

Visit the beautiful Notre Dame cathedral, one of the city’s most famous landmarks and an icon of the Gothic era. Nearby, walk the popular love lock bridge and watch as couples throw their key into the river Seine for everlasting love.

Paris is home to some of the finest museums in Europe including the Louvre, with its iconic triangular exterior, and where you can view the classic Mona Lisa painting which is one of Leonardo da Vinci’s most famous pieces. Get lost in the streets of bohemian Montmartre and witness local artists selling their work below the grand Sacre Coeur Basilica, a Roman Catholic church dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. As one of the highest points in the city, grab a coffee and crepe and relax atop the iconic city skyline.

For another one of the best views of the city, take to the top of the Montparnasse tower. Often far less crowded, you will experience one of the most photogenic views of the Eiffel Tower and the city looming in the background. Cobbled lanes are connected to picturesque canals, the streets are lined with colorful houses and the marketplace filled with the aroma of fresh pastries.

Once an important centre for trade and fishing, Bruges has successfully kept its medieval and traditional atmosphere. Check out The Basilica of the Holy Blood, where it is said that a relic of Christ was collected and brought to the church by Joseph of Arimathea. The Church of our Lady is another must see, dating back to the 13th century and being the only church in Europe to hold a sculpture by Michelangelo. After your fill of history, why not opt for a walk along the city’s few remaining windmills, located just outside the city gates.

Another must while in Belgium is to indulge in some of the finest chocolate in Europe. Bruges has a host of quaint chocolate shops that let you taste your way around the streets. Cycle next to the canals and through the many parks to experience Amsterdam’s unique charm. Combined, locals bike around 2 million kilometers every day!

Amsterdam is also well known for the Anne Frank House, where Anne Frank and her family lived in hiding for two years, and where she penned the now well known “Anne Frank’s Diary”, a touching and emotional reminder of WWII.

For the largest collection of Van Gogh paintings in the world, head to the Museumkwartier and check out the Van Gogh museum. As well as over 200 paintings the museum boasts a collection of his personal effects as well as paintings from his contemporaries. Explore Rijksmuseum, the National Museum of the Netherlands, which is the only museum in the world with a tunnel to bike through.

Day 5 to 5 – Berlin

The city of Berlin has a lot to be discovered. After being devastated during WWII, the city has rebuilt into a modern oasis and managed to keep its tradition and history in the process. Both the capital and largest city in Germany, Berlin has seen its fair share of division. In 1961, East German soldiers lay down the foundations for the infamous Berlin Wall, which was to divide the Soviet controlled East side of the city and the democratic West side. This turbulent time eventually came to an end in 1989 followed by the demolition of the wall in 1991. To this day, a part remains as a reminder of history and is a must see while in Berlin. You can also visit Checkpoint Charlie, the most well known crossing point between the east and west sides.

Arriving by train in the late afternoon, you have the perfect opportunity to experience some of Berlin’s world famous nightlife. Club culture and all things techno radiate through the city, drawing party goers from all over. Beyond the nightclubs, Berlin has a thriving music scene of jazz, punk and everything in between, with venues dotted all over the city.
